Treatment Approaches

Depending on your needs our psychologists integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches to help you improve your mental health and well-being. We are client-centred. This means that we work collaboratively with you to tailor an individualised plan to tackle you current challenges and struggles. Common treatment approaches include:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) a practical, time-limited treatment approach to help people motivate, activate and sustain lasting change through modification of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) an empirically based form of behavioural therapy to enhance psychological well being that uses strategies such as mindfulness, acceptance of thoughts and mood states, and commitment to values based living and behavioural changes.
  • Mindfulness, strategies to allow you to be in the present moment with awareness, openness, and acceptance rather than continuously analysing and judging, categorising and worrying and being (over) critical of yourself and others.
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which can help people to deal with the symptoms and emotional distress (like anxiety, sleeplessness, panic attacks and depression) that are the result of traumatic life experiences.
